Spitfire

Spitfire, the second track on Brankholm Brae, is already a TwinsTown classic, and an anti-Nazi classic. It’s the most rockin’ number on the forthcoming debut album. It’s also handy when ordering a pizza.

Ordering a pizza to Spitfire

For me it’s all about the wartime spirit and the camaraderie of Spitfire pilots, as well as a tribute to all of the heroes and heroines of WWII.

You can actually hear a Spitfire overhead.

However, simply buy the album and interpret it as you like. Rocket machines or no, Spitfire holds a unique status as a pizza-ordering anthem.

EPISODE ONE

Arriving at Tpot Studios

Arriving at Tpot Studios, Path of Condie, the first thing I see is a classic VW camper van in my favourite shade of red with the two-tone roof. Braw.
The views from Tpot are stunning. Waking up on my first morning there my window pointed over to the right of this, equally stunning!
Inside I want to check out the performers’ studio. Through the window on the left you can see people in the kitchen. Through the window on the right is Robin Wynn Evan’s control desk.
Instruments Galore! I like this whatever it is. At high school I managed to get something out of a wee key board thingy sounding vaguely like Enola Gay by OMD. That won’t cut it this weekend.
Grand piano maybe, I’m no expert.
Donald Mackay wastes no time. He’s tinkling within minutes.
“I’m not the man they think I am at home,
Oh no no no, I’m a rocket man,
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone…”
Having a rest. Hurry up, Harry!
The Wasp, Wayne Robertson, is ready.
At last, The Duke, Harry Dixon, preparing to flare it!
Robin Wynn Evans, super producer, saves the day.
Stuart Mackay signals all is good, peace, love and understanding.
Singer song-writers supreme, Hornet and Smackay are ready. Braw guitars.
We’re missing a top man on keys. Ah, it’s The Darkness, Mark Guyan, and he’s climbing a rope… to be continued.

Look at all the places, all the places

Verse 1
Welcome to my world, it would be nice to get to know you,
It would be nice to get to know me!!!
For every smile from them that’s so true
There’s a side to them you don’t see
Knowing me it’ll be something I’ve said
I’d take it back but it was all in my head
I guess I should face the vital fact
That boy ain’t ever coming back!!!

Chorus
I think”ll be quite alright if I pass them and they don’t smile
I think il be quite alright if I pass them and they don’t smile
If they don’t look me in the eyes

Instrumental

Look at all the places,

Verse 2
Welcome to my world, I think I’m okay man i must be feeling brave
I just got the shakes like someone stood on my grave

There’s a table in hell

I spy with my little eyes something beginning with lies
I spy with my little eyes something beginning with lies
